Having participated in Girls Build LA for over 10 years, Thurgood Marshall Secondary School is passionate about making a difference, both in our school and club community. Our mission is to cultivate a life of holistic well-being by honoring each member's personal needs, relationships, and passions! We hope to solve the problem of feeling out of place in a school environment by encouraging the idea of getting out of one's comfort zone and appreciating our surrounding peers for their unique differences.
From making friendship bracelets to Thanksgiving cards, our club has always found joy when partaking in arts and crafts that bring everyone together!

Our mission that served as this year's foundation for GBLA's project is Voices in Bloom. It is not only a name, but a message that emphasizes the importance we place on each individual's voice. We understand that adolescence is a confusing and difficult time, and we want to provide an opportunity for students to be heard and express themselves. This was further elaborated on through our end of the year project, "Voices in Bloom, an Art Show", where our members got to share their story with the school commnity through creative pieces that represented their personal growth at Thurgood Marshall.
